Port de Balès Cows

Haven't put up a cycling vid in a long time. Here is a cool one. While doing some recon on the Port de Balès in the Pyrenees, the upcoming stage 15 in the TDF, Lance had some unexpected visitors. There is a second vid after the jump with a little more talking and explanation of what they are doing.

I do want you to note that in this first vid Lance is getting himself ready to be filmed (he doesn't realize it is already recording) and in the "actual" video he wanted to release he is more put together. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Team Radio Shack Cycling Kit

Team Radio Shack has finally released what their jerseys are gonna look like. I have to say I'm a little disappointed. I expected something a little more modern/awesome. With a team that has so many superstars on it, wouldn't you also want to be the ones that look the most professional while also looking the most badass? What do you guys think?

Tour de Austin

This vid has been up on the MashSF site for quite some time. Didn't realize that there was a youtube version. Yes, that is Lance, yes he is fast. Zombito, maybe you will recognize some of the streets. Bonus footage at the end of Lance's home.

Lance, what a badass.

My parents showed me this video a while back. Wasn't able to find an embeddable version til now. Whether or not Lance cheated in the past is irrelevant. Cancer is a horrible disease that affects so many people in the world. It is never ok to make fun using cancer as a punch line. That journalist should be fired.

PS This was during a press conference for the most recent Tour of California, where Lance's teammate Levi Leipheimer took the final yellow jersey.

Lance affected by retirement?

Here's proof otherwise. Check out the other riders laughing in the background. Not to mention the look of incredulity on the yellow devil's face.

Tour of California

Have you guys been watching the Tour of California? Well it has been plagued by rain since the onset. Although there has been some impressive feats of athleticism, like Mancebo riding alone for 100 miles and winning the 1st stage after breaking away 8 miles into the stage. Ballsy.

Fortunately today's stage was a lot more exciting with a flat sprint finish. Click the jump for more info.

Sprints, IMO, are the most exciting part of any professional tour. Yes, it is impressive to watch strength on climbs or break away after break away that get swallowed whole by the peloton. Sprints are just badass. Stage 3 of the Amgen Tour of California did not disappoint. Thor "God of Thunder" Hushovd on Cervelo Test Team beat out self-proclaimed fastest man on a bike Mark Cavendish from Team Columbia-Highroad.

Check out the look of desperation on Cav's and the team Rabobank rider's face finishing behind Hushovd. Sweet. Hushovd has always been a favorite of mine. Now on Cervelo Test Team along with last years TDF winner Carlos Sastre, they have good chances of punishing some people this coming year. Go to this website and look for the Stage 3 tab and scroll down for the stage win within the video box.

Of course there is also the return of Lance to Team Astana. He has told the press that he will be a Super Domestique Extraordinaire to teammate Levi Leihpheimer. Levi has won the ToC for the past two years now. Lance has so far done his job helping Levi as he still holds the yellow jersey. According to Lance, his role for the long run is still up in the air. Exciting to see what will happen. As a side note, Lance is riding for free. Thats right, a volunteer rider. He just wants to bring awareness to the Livestrong Foundation and the fight against cancer.

Levi being interviewed by some chubby guy.

Lance getting ready to ride.

Hopefully the rest of the ToC will be exciting. Sorry to cut the post short. I was going to post about Team Garmin/Slipstream but Lost is on.
