Environmental Destruction Anyone?

Im not talking about Global Warming or Deforestation... I'm talkin about Red Faction, Baby! The Red Faction Franchise, famous for pioneering the Geo-Mod gameplay mechanic, is ready to deliver again with Red faction: Guerrilla. I had a chance to play the demo this weekend and had CHINGOS of fun. GT's Preview after the jump.

Lemme tell you... the demo kicked ass. Your put in to the shoes of Alec Mason who is one ticked off Mars miner (sounds like these Red Faction guys are runnin out of ideas). Anyway, its kind of got a Mercenaries meets Red Faction feel with its 3rd Person POV and its fully realized "Mars" world. As I was saying earlier, the demo kicks butt. You're tasked with retrieving a massive piece of equipment that the bad guys have taken from the miners. Playing as Alec Mason as you make your way to the location of said Equipment is a lot of fun... but then you get IN to the machine and the game becomes pure bliss. I won't spoil it for you. PS3 owners hit up your Playstation Store, Xbox360 users hit up your marketplace. Enjoy.

p.s. The machine that you steal back can be seen in the vid at 1:22-1:28, but you really have to play it to appreciate how much fun it is.

Efren, did you play the original Red Faction? I realize that there can be a lot more done with today's graphics engines but I just plainly didn't like the demo.

I thought the controls were bad, the camera angles were bad and mostly the reality of the destruction was piss poor.

If a huge metal girder is falling on you, it should hurt.

I thought the original Red Faction was the bomb diggity. This ain't.

Well thats just because I have way better taste in games than you do.

Yes I did play the original Red Faction extensively.

Really though, you dont enjoy busting through walls and other structures with that hammer? Or busting through entire buildings with that walker thing?

Plus, everybody knows that on Mars girders dont weigh as much.
